Postwar Era: a recent story at the Guggenheim Collection

Add to bookmark Add to favourities

Since January 23th until april 4th the Guggenheim Collection exhibits a fresh perspective on the american and european art history after the end of World War II with Postwar Era: A recent history.

Through 70 works drawn from the Peggy Guggenheim collection, with some exhibited in very few occasions, the exhibition is a comparison between two different artistic moments: from the immediate post war period until the end of 70s, grouping and matching the works based on theme, style, affinity, in a path organized by the curator Luca Massimo Barbero.

In addition to the great names like Capogrossi, Vedova, Sutherland Bazoties, Davie, the exhibition offers insight into the work of two artists in the Foundation’s collections: Jack Tworkov and Claire Falkenstein. The latter is celebrated for her entrance gates to Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, which will undergo conservation in time for this exhibition.
